Walsall's on-loan West Ham United midfielder George Dobson, who is in the middle of a season-loan loan at Banks's Stadium, has briefly returned to his parent club to take part in the Hammers' Premier League 2 clash with Norwich City Under 23s.
The match took place on Monday evening at Dagenham and Redbridge's Chigwell Construction Stadium and gave the Hammers an opportunity to assess many of their young pro's as the January transfer window gives them an opportunity to venture out for some first-team football.
West Ham ran out winners by two-goals-to-one as former Manchester United prospect Ashley Fletcher and Marcus Browne netted for the home side, with Joe Crowe grabbing a consolation for the Canaries.
George Dobson came through the match unscathed and should be in contention for Saturday's Sky Bet League One clash with high-flying Sheffield United.
