Danny Johnson Looks to the Future as Walsall Exit Confirmed

The striker will be looking for a new club over the coming months.
Bescot Banter - Walsall FC NewsFollowing the news that he will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of June, Danny Johnson has issued a statement, thanking the fans for their support during his time in WS1.

After joining a successful loan spell, Johnson joined the Saddlers on a permanent basis from Mansfield Town in the summer of 2023 and made a total of ninety-eight first-team appearances, scoring thirty goals.

After missing the opening few weeks through injury, last season saw Johnson struggle for regular football making thirty appearances, scoring eight goals as he appeared to fall out of favour with Head Coach Mat Sadler.

His statement reads: "To the Walsall fans, thank you for your support, you have been incredible with me throughout.

"I wish I could have contributed more had I been given a chance. The lads have been amazing and gave everything this season to get over the line, but it wasn't meant to be.

"It has been a really frustrating period of time. And I'm glad this chapter is now over, and I can look forward to playing football again next season."
