It was a busy day at the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium, with contract news, league fixtures, cup ties, player arrivals and a departure, as we continue to close in upon the 2025/26 campaign.The day started with the welcome news that Jamille Matt had put pen to paper on a new one-year contract in WS1.
Attention then turned to the upcoming League Two campaign as the Saddlers' 2-25/26 fixtures were confirmed.
Next up was news of which so-called invited team will join the Saddlers, Northampton Town and Shrewsbury Town in Southern Group C of the Vertu Trophy.
The cup news continued as we found out that a nearby Championship side will take on the Saddlers in Round One of the Carabao Cup.
We were then provided with news of new arrivals in WS1 when former Exeter City defender Vincent Harper was confirmed.
The news wasn't all good, however, as we also learned that defender Taylor Allen had agreed terms on an as=yet-undisclosed move to League One Wycombe Wanderers.
The day ended with more positive news, as the Saddlers secured the services of Stevenage forward Aaron Pressley, who has penned a three-year deal in WS1.
