Saddlers Memories: Walsall Fans Asked to Share Their Stories

Lifelong Walsall supporter Jess Goldby is looking for Saddlers fans to share their memories and anecdotes of the club they love.
Lifelong Walsall supporter Jess Goldby, who is in her final year of study at Liverpool John Moores University, is looking for Saddlers fans to share their memories and anecdotes of the club they love. Those who submit their memories will receive a copy of the finished work later this year. You can read Jess's blog below.

My name is Jess, and I’m a final year student at Liverpool John Moores University. As part of my final year, I need to create a project that engages a community that I belong to. I’ve been a Walsall fan my whole life and was a season ticket holder before I moved to university. I miss going to matches every week, so I decided to centre my project around our great club and the community it creates.

I’m going to create a collection of memories, anecdotes and interviews with lifelong fans. I’m looking for stories from real fans, it could be anything - an account of your favourite derby day, a piece about a friend you have met through the club, or a particular highlight from your time as a Saddlers fan. It could be about anything as long as it shows your love for the club! The collection will then be printed and you will receive a copy if you submit a piece.

Submissions can be of any length, and can include photos if you’d like! The deadline for submissions is Sunday, 25th March 2018. If you’d like any further details or have any questions you can message me on [email protected].

Please send your submissions to [email protected]

Thank you in advance, and I look forward to reading and sharing your stories about the Saddlers!
