Ahead of Saturday afternoon's Sky Bet League 1 clash between Walsall and Bradford City, Saddlers manager Dean Smith has spoken to club journalists and discussed Rico Henry, insisting that the left-sided defender has that "something special".
Speaking via Saddlers.co.uk, Smith said; “To be honest, I was thinking about resting him on Tuesday night. You do worry about young kids when they’re playing Saturday - Tuesday – Saturday, and he’d just been away with England and had to deal with that.
“But he was excellent. The way he finished the game against Sheffield United made me not leave him out, which is tough because he’s got Andy Taylor breathing down his neck and he’s a really good player as well. But the kid is something special and on Tuesday night, he put in a special performance.”
