Ahead of this afternoon's Sky Bet League 1 clash with Bradford City, Saddlers goalkeeper Neil Etheridge has sat down with club journalists and discussed his time at the club, insisting that Walsall is the right place to help him achieve his career goals.

Speaking via Saddlers.co.uk, Neil said; “It’s been fantastic for me here. Everyone involved with the club has made me feel extremely welcome and I’m playing every week, which is great.

“All credit to Neil Cutler, who has done a very good job with me. And I’ve got Craig MacGillivray, who pushes me week in, week out and every day on the training ground so I know I’ve got to stay on my toes.

“I’ve walked into a team that was ready and firing to do go this season which was great for me. The ambition for me is high and has been throughout my career, and here I’m at a club that want to get promotion.

“The togetherness has been fantastic since the day I walked into the training ground. Everyone knows their place and how important they are to the squad. There are players who are disappointed not to be playing and players who are extremely happy to be starting every week, but it’s a squad game.

“Over the rest of the season, we need to keep working together and grinding away as a squad. We know what we’re doing on the training ground is working and we won’t change it. We believe in our style of play and our style of play has got us to where we are in the league at the moment.”
