NEWS & VIEWS
As they look to put last season's Play-Off Final disappointment behind them, Walsall have gone some eight league games without defeat, form that puts them amongst the best in the EFL.
Guided by Head Coach Mat Sadler, the team continues to defy the pre-season odds, sitting atop the league table ahead of this weekend's meeting with the steadily-improving Bluebirds.
Although last weekend's one-all draw with strugglers Crawley Town could be seen as a disappointing result, the team once again displayed an ability to remain patient under pressure.
The match saw Connor Barrett, who Mat Sadler recently described as the 'best' wing-back in the league, grabbed his third goal of the season early in the second-half after the Red Devils had spent much of the game on the offensive.
TEAM NEWS
Mason Hancock, Harry Williams, and Elicha Ahui, all remain sidelined with long-term injuries.
Meanwhile, Josh Gordon will miss out for the visitors as he is unable to play against his parent club.
THE OPPOSITION
After losing three times in as many games, the Bluebirds are now undefeated in their last four league outings, and will reach this weekend's match on the back of a goalless draw with Oldham Athletic.
