Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the local press and discussed Huddersfield Town midfielder Oscar Gobern, admitting that he remains interested in the soon-to-be free agent.
Speaking the
Express & Star, Smith said; “I’m interested in Gobern – I like him as a player and I think he is a really good footballer.
“You always need options in midfield and we had Michael Cain on loan from Leicester last season.
“Hopefully, Sam Manton has got his injuries behind him now. He has come in for the summer training sessions and looked really good, which is pleasing.
“But it’s those options that are important. Oscar is a good player who I have admired for a while. He has always been one who has been on the list and one I want to speak to.”
