Joining on a free transfer from Colchester United in the summer of 2024, Sam made twelve first-team appearances last season, serving as back up to on-loan Stoke City stopper Tommy Simkin.
Speaking via the club's official website, Hornby welcomed the opportunity to extend his stay, he said: "I'm really happy to be staying with the club for another two years.
"Last season obviously ended in the disappointment of missing out on promotion at Wembley but there were still some incredible memories that were created as a squad and as a whole club and I am sure there's areas that we can build on going into the new season.
"I'm excited to be working with Dan Still again and pushing on with the rest of the goalkeeping department to make sure we're incredibly competitive going into the new campaign.
"Off the pitch was an important part of being with the club last season for me as well and I was honoured to have won the Community Player of the Season and I will be looking to continue that work with Adam and the Foundation here at the club so I am just excited for whatever comes next."
