Walsall Under-18s were back in action on Tuesday morning as they made their way to Salford Sports Village and took on Salford City Under-18s in their latest EFL Youth Alliance - North outing of the season.Looking to build upon their superb 3-1 victory over Rotherham United at the weekend, the young Saddlers were in buoyant mood as they hoped to continue their recent spell of form.
Walsall wasted no time in finding the back of the young Ammies' net when Ethan Khan gave his side the lead with just two minutes on the clock. A superb start for the youngsters who looked to have turned a corner following a slow start to the campaign.
Their fast-paced opening didn't end there, as, with eleven minutes played, young professional Stan Straw, who continues to build fitness following a lengthy spell on the sidelines, doubled Walsall's lead with a well-placed header from a corner kick across the box.
There were no further goals in the game as the Saddlers went on to secure their second win in three days, with their next outing taking place at the weekend as they welcome Oldham Athletic to Ray Hall Lane.
