Lee Grant Nominated for August's Manager of the Month Award

Walsall Head Coach Lee Grant has been named among the nominees for the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month award for August.

The Saddlers came through the first month of the 2026/27 season unbeaten with two victories and a draw to their name, keeping two clean sheets in the process in what has been a positive start to life under Grant at the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium.

The gaffer is facing some stiff competition as several other sides also enjoyed strong starts to the new campaign, and you can find details of his competition below.

Dean Brennan (Barnet) :Barnet narrowly missed the play-offs last season, yet the excitement of their thrilling run under Brennan has carried over, integrating new players into their attacking style with eight goals and seven points from three unbeaten games.

Danny Cowley (Colchester United): Slow starts have hampered Colchester’s promotion push in recent seasons. Cowley rectified that this August with positive substitutions bringing late goals in wins over Oldham and Rochdale in a haul of seven points from a possible nine.

Scott Lindsey (York City): Taking over from the manager who brought their side back into the EFL was not an easy task, but Lindsey made an immediate positive impression on the York fans by leading them to seven points from three unbeaten August fixtures.

The Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel comprises former Barnsley manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies. The winner will be announced on Friday, 11th September.
