There are a handful of Saddlers currently out on loan, with players from the academy and first-team looking to impress and potentially force their way into the first-team.

Stan Straw was named in the starting XI as Redditch United played host to Gloucester City in the First Round of the FA Trophy on Saturday afternoon.

The opening goal arrived with just under five minutes of the second half remaining when Tyler Bruck fired the ball into the back of the net.

But, despite being reduced to ten men early in the second-half, the visitors would go on to taken an unlikely lead when Harry Williams grabbed two goals, seemingly sealing his side's place in the next round.

But, with just two minutes of normal time remaining, Redditch battled back onto level terms when Dan Sweeney scored, that goal ultimately leading to a post-match penalty shoot-out that the Reds won 4-2, booking their place in the Second Round.

Rico Browne was also in his side's starting XI as Woking made their way to Lincolnshire and the Attis Arena as they faced Scunthorpe United in the National League.

Despite the wind and rain, it turned out to be an entertaining afternoon as Aiden O'Brien brace, along with a John Marquis penalty saw the Cardinals establish a three goal lead before Rico became the focus of attention when he was sent off for an apparent off the ball incident.

Making the most of their man advantage, the Iron would get themselves on the scoresheet via James Norwood, a few minutes after t match reached the hour mark, before going to within a goal of their opponents when Luke Brennan made it 2-3 with six minutes of the contest still to play.

Woking were able to hold onto their lead, and the all-important points.

Ronan Maher retained his place in the starting eleven as Wealdstone visited the EBB Stadium and faced Aldershot Town in the National League.

The match itself was settled by just the one goal when Olufela Olomola gave the Stones the lead with just one minute of the second-half on the clock.

Vincent Harper was a second-half substitute when Exeter City defeated Fleetwood Town 2-1 at St James Park.

Taking the lead via Charlie Cummins just before the hour mark, the Grecians were dragged back onto level terms just three minutes later when Ronan Coughlan struck the ball home, only for Luca Woodhouse to put Exeter back into the lead just a few minutes later.

Vincent replaced George Birch with twelve minutes of the game remaining, as his side took all three points.
