The Club has confirmed that Senior Professional Development Phase Coach Ryan Simmonds will join head coach Lee Grant's backroom team ahead of the upcoming 2026/27 Sky Bet League Two campaign.Joining the already announced Richard Keogh, Ryan has done tremendous work since arriving at the football club and been a real aid to the outstanding work within the Academy, developing young players both on and off the pitch to give them the best chance of progressing along the pathway to first-team football.
Ryan is privy to life in a first-team environment having been called upon for the remaining ten games of last season under interim Head Coach Darren Byfield.
He impressed significantly during that time, displaying a real eagerness and drive to help the club push forward and he will continue to be a key link between the men’s first-team and the Academy in supporting and developing our scholars and young professionals.
