Backed by over 17,000 fans, Walsall made their way to Wembley Stadium on Bank Holiday Monday as they took on AFC Wimbledon in the Sky Bet League Two Play-Off Final.
After defeating Chesterfield across a two-legged Semi-Final, the Saddlers were hoping to use their recent momentum and take their place in the third tier for the 2025.26 campaign.
The game was a cagey affair, with neither side keen to retain much of the ball, however, it was the Dons that grabbed the opening goal of the contest as Myles Hippolyte lashed home just before half-time.
