Following the news that he'd put pen-to-paper on his first professional contract at the Poundland Bescot Stadium, goalkeeper George Barrett has discussed his desire to make the most of his opportunity.
"I’m extremely excited."
Barrett, who has enjoyed several loan spells over the course of his scholarship, is hoping to use that experience to his advantage and battle for a place in the team next season..
Speaking via the official website George said: "I’m absolutely buzzing.
"I’ve spent the last two years in and around the first team with Watto, Jackson, and Owen so I’ve had a great example set to me so if I follow that example, I’ll fit right in.
"I’ve had a good last two years at the club and it can only get better if I put in the work and do what I know I can do, especially with the players and staff that I have around me.
"I’m extremely excited."
