Walsall Senior Cup: Walsall Ease Through to the Second Round

Here is our update from the Saddlers' Walsall Senior Cup meeting with Paget Rangers.
A Walsall XI made the trip to Coles Lane on Tuesday evening as they were scheduled to face Paget Rangers in the First Round of the 2023/24 Walsall Senior Cup.

With the first-team taking on Alfreton Town in their FA Cup Second Round replay down the road in WS1, a young side was fielded at Coles Lane with the Saddlers being far from favourites to take their place in the next round.

However, in a night of real dominance for the inexperienced Reds, goals from Charlie Wragg, who bagged a brace, Piers Juliff, Zak Poskitt, and first-year pro Marvellous Onabirekhanlen, saw them advance to the Second Round in some style.

The home side did trouble the scorers themselves, with Levi Henderson and Harry Parker getting their names on the scoresheet, though this was to no avail, as Walsall's competition continues.
