It was something of a low-key evening but the Saddlers got the job done.

Walsall booked their place alongside Southampton in the Third Round of the Emirates FA Cup with a narrow win over National League North side Alfreton Town on Tuesday evening.
An early Jamille Matt goal was all that separated the sides at a sparsely-populated Bescot Stadium after the two teams had played out a goalless draw at the Impact Arena a week earlier.
The Saddlers will now make their way to St Mary's Stadium on or around Saturday, 6th January 2023, and, as a result, their scheduled home clash with Morecambe has been postponed.
