Championship Clubs to Name Nine Subs as League's One & Two Stick With Seven

Championship clubs will be able to select from an increased substitutes bench from the beginning of the new season.
Bescot Banter - Walsall FC NewsThe EFL has confirmed that, following discussions between Club officials regarding the number of substitutes named in matchday squads, Championship Clubs have opted to use five substitutes from nine named from the start of the 2023/24 campaign.

However, Clubs in League One and League Two will continue to use the current format of five possible substitutes from seven named in the matchday squad.

In accordance with the League’s Articles of Association, each Division is able to propose and adopt amendments or alterations to a variety of fixture-related matters, including the number of substitutes.
