Following the conclusion of the Saddlers' 2021/22 League Two campaign, the time has now come for Head Coach Michael Flynn to start to shape his squad ahead of the new season.

With several players set to be out of contract, and another group struggling to make the case for a place in next season's squad, the gaffer had many tough decisions to make.

In a statement, released via the club's official website, it was confirmed that five players have been released with several others remaining under contract for at least the 2022/23 campaign.

Along with the various departers, it was also confirmed that defenders Mat Sadler and Stephen Ward have retired, whilst the club has invited Rory Holden to pre-season training with his future still to be decided.
