The Saddlers have added to their defensive options with this latest arrival.
Bescot Banter - Walsall FC NewsWalsall have completed the signing of Derby County centre-back Daniel Cox, who arrives at the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium on a season-long loan.

19-year-old Cox, who has spent the last few weeks on trial in WS1, featured in the recent friendlies against Leamington and Hereford.

After making his Rams debut in 2023 as County took on Wolves' Under-21s in the Vertu Trophy, last season he made nine first-team appearances for National League South side Enfield Town.

Making several appearances in Premier League 2, he is also a Welsh youth international, having played from Under 15s right through to the Under 19s, who he captained on three occasions last campaign in UEFA Euro Under-19s qualifiers.

Speaking via the club's official website, Head Coach Mat Sadler sought to welcome Dan to the club, he said: "Dan is a really strong, well thought of defender from Derby, and we thank them for their help on this one thanks to the relationships that we have with them.

"He adds real balance to our left-hand side to compete in the places there. He drives with the ball and has a really athletic profile so I’m really pleased to have secured him."
