The EFL has released a statement regarding the latest round of Covid-19 tests.
EFL Statement: Covid-19 Test Results.
In the statement released via their official website, the EFL confirmed that a total of 5208 players and Club staff from all 72 EFL Clubs were tested as part of last week’s testing programme, with zero positive cases returned.

A twice-weekly COVID-19 mandatory testing programme is now in place for all 72 Clubs, with today’s results covering all tests undertaken from Monday, 26th April to Sunday 2 May.

Additional information
  • It is the third time all 72 EFL Clubs have returned zero positive tests since the introduction of the programme.
  • Testing will not eliminate risk and must be used in conjunction with the protocols already being followed across all EFL Clubs
  • Lateral flow devices (LFDs) deliver a rapid assessment on whether someone is infectious or not
  • If an individual tests positive using LFD they will be required to undertake a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) antigen test
  • The EFL regularly reviews its COVID-19 protocols and guidance in-line with government advice.
