The Walsall-born boss, who watched at his side followed up a duo of victories over Coventry City and Sunderland with a dismal defeat to Bradford City, admitted that there are several tough games coming up and the Saddlers must keep working hard as they look to return to winning ways.
Speaking via the Express & Star, Dean said; "We have got to find that level of consistency. We are going into some very difficult games. Peterborough, Luton, Charlton – they are all up there flying. But those games are no different to facing the likes of Coventry and Sunderland.
"Bristol Rovers will be a different game, they are down their fighting for there lives. They have had a managerial change. We are going into the Christmas period. It is always busy and hectic.
"But we are going into proper football matches. They are going to be a test. But hopefully we are going to stand up and be counted and get some points on the board. We have come through a bit of a difficult patch.
"We started so well. We hit a plateau – we were a bit up and down. We had a few indifferent performances. But if the lads keep working hard, if they keep showing the right character and the right desire, we will get results."
