The teenage centre-back, who was given his first team debut last season by Dean Keates as he started the Red Dragons' 2-0 home defeat against Harrogate Town in the FA Trophy - First Round, has been offered his first professional contract by recently-appointed Reds’ boss Sam Ricketts after impressing in the youth ranks.
The youngster returned for pre-season training on Monday, but hasn’t put pen to paper on a new deal as he is keen to explore his options with interest from the EFL unsurprisingly attracting his attention.
Speaking via The Leader, Wrexham boss Sam Ricketts admitted that the Dragons starlet looks set to leave the club, he said; "Doug hasn’t signed, he is in a situation where he has got some interest from other clubs. He has been training with us all week, what we are doing is allowing him to explore an opportunity which would be beneficial for him and the club as well."
Along with the obvious link to the Saddlers there is also some suggestion that recently-relegated League One side Barnsley are keen to take a look at the defender with manager Daniel Stendel seeking to add to his options ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
