Joe Edwards Signs New One-Year Walsall Deal

Walsall Football Club have today confirmed that midfielder Joe Edwards has put pen-to-paper on a new one-year contract which includes an option of a further year and could see him stay at Banks's Stadium until at least the summer of 2020.
The 27-year-old midfielder, who was set to be out of contract at the end of the month, is seen as a huge part of the team both on and off the pitch which lead manager Dean Keates to offer him a new deal despite suffering a long-term injury towards the end of last season.

Edwards, who was named the Saddlers' Player of the Season last month, missed the last thirteen games of the campaign after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury against Blackburn Rovers and isn't expected to return to full fitness until November.

News, published via the club's official website - Saddlers.co.uk - confirms; Walsall Football Club are delighted to announce that vice-captain Joe Edwards has signed a new one-year contract, with a further year’s option.
