West Brom Now Odds-On to Land Former Walsall Striker Troy Deeney

West Bromwich Albion are now odds on to land Watford striker Troy Deeney, as the Birmingham-born attacker looks set to attract bids in the region of £20,000,000.
West Bromwich Albion are now odds-on to land Watford's former Walsall striker Troy Deeney, as the Birmingham-born attacker looks set to attract bids in the region of £20,000,000 during the January Transfer Window.

29-year-old Deeney, who joined the Hornets from the Saddlers in 2010, penned a new long-term deal in the summer of 2016, but is understood to be open to a move, should the right offer come along.

Walsall, who signed Deeney in 2006, have an active sell-on clause of around 20%, which could see the club collect in the region of £4m should a deal be struck over the next month.

Deeney has gone on to make over three-hundred first-team appearances for Watford, scoring more than one-hundred goals and establishing himself as a fan favourite in the process.

According to the bookmaker Sky Bet, West Brom are now odds-on at 8/13 to take Deeney to the Hawthorns during the January transfer window. However, there is little in the market between Deeney going to West Brom and staying at Vicarage Road, with Sky Bet offering 4/7 that he stays with Marco Silva's side.

Several other clubs including Newcastle United, Brighton and Hove Albion, Stoke City and Everton have all been linked with a move for Deeney as the market continues to overprice talent with money being no object in the Premier League.
