According to media reports, Premier League Watford are prepared to listen to offers for former Walsall striker Troy Deeney, with the Birmingham-born attacker set to attract bids in the region of £20,000,000.

Walsall, who signed Deeney in 2006, have an active sell-on clause of around 20%, which could see the club collect in the region of £4m should a deal be struck over the next month.

29-year-old Deeney, who penned a new long-term deal in the summer of 2016, joined the Hornets for around £500,000 in 2010 and has gone on to make over three-hundred  first-team appearances, scoring more than one-hundred goals.

Deeney is club captain and been one of Watford’s key players in recent years. But he has scored just twice so far this season and Marco Silva is now prepared to part with the fans favourite, though Watford will demand in the region of £20 million.

It is reported that Watford boss Marco Silva is keen to sign Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe with the manager keen to freshen up his forward line as they look to secure a spot in the upper echelons of the Premier League table.

Newcastle United are one of the clubs currently linked with Deeney, but are understood to be reticent to table an offer with the forward seeking over £70,000-a-week in wages.
