With the squad's return to pre-season training under a week away, Walsall manager Jon Whitney has spoken to the local press and once again insisted that the Saddlers will complete some key signings in the very near future.
Whitney, who is under increasing pressure following the disappointing 2016/17 campaign and the perceived lack of transfer activity so far this summer, spoke to the Express & Star and revealed that he hopes to complete two signings by the end of the week.
Jon said; "We are hoping to announce two signings later this week. The medicals will be done by then and I’m due to meet two players at the ground so we can let the fans know.
"Everything has been arranged. The deals have been done verbally. Contracts have been agreed. It’s just a case of meeting up and, subject to medicals, we will have them signing on the dotted line. One is a goalkeeper and the other is a centre-half."
