As the Saddlers squad get set to return to pre-season training on Monday, midfielder Joe Edwards has spoken to club journalists and revealed his excitement at the prospect of getting back underway.
Joe, who was speaking via Saddlers.co.uk, admitted that despite having an individual regime to do during the break, he does miss the regular training routine and is eager to return to action, he said; "The summer has flown by – it didn’t feel too long ago that we’d just finished. It’s been a good break. I managed to get myself away to America for a couple of weeks and did a bit of travelling over there. It was nice to get away, relax my body and enjoy myself.
"Pre-season is not far away now and I’m really excited. After a couple of weeks you get that little bug and you want to get back in the routine of training and being with the boys – which is what I enjoy the most.
"You do miss it and it’s been a longer break than normal this summer, but I’m looking forward to getting back in and seeing the lads."
