On Saturday afternoon Walsall striker Andreas Makris was named on the bench as Cyprus took on Estonia in their latest Word Cup Qualification Group H match.

The match, which took place at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia, saw fourth placed Cyprus take on fifth placed Estonia with both sides, who have lost three of their four previous games, seeking to maintain the gap to the group leaders.

Cyprus enjoyed much more of the ball over the course of the game, creating more goal-scoring opportunities but failing to really test the goalkeeper as Estonia were forced to defend for large portions of the match, counter attacking when the opportunity arose.

Andreas Makris, who played the full ninety minutes of Cyprus' recent friendly victory over Kazakhstan, was brought on to the pitch with just moments of normal time remaining. He was unable to break the deadlock as the points were shared.
