Walsall's Interim Head Coach Jon Whitney has spoken to club journalists following the news that top-scorer Tom Bradshaw has been called up to the Wales squad for their international friendlies against Northern Ireland and Ukraine, insisting it's fantastic news for both Tom and the club.
Speaking via Saddlers.co.uk, Jon said; “I’m made up for Tom. I know it’ll mean so much to him and to his family. Hard work pays off. He’s been so consistent in his performances and he’s always going to put a shift in.
“His goal the other night probably made them think they can’t leave him out of the squad, which gives him a chance for the Euros. It’s fantastic for Tom and fantastic for the club.”
