Their first meeting took place at Highfield Road, on 31st October 1903, the Saddlers defeating the Sky Blues 4-2 in the First Qualifying Round of the Football Association Challenge Cup.

Their most recent meeting took place on 29th November, and ended in a 0-0 draw in-front of 8,076 at the Ricoh Arena.

Walsall have won just one of the last ten meetings, a statistic that includes four draws and five defeats and dates back to February 2002.

Aside from Walsall's most recent victory, a 4-0 League win on April 1st 2013, the previous Saddlers victory came on 9th October 1984, with Walsall winning 3-0 in a Milk Cup Second Round, Second Leg fixture.

The Saddlers took on Chelsea in the Third Round, and forced the Blues into a replay after drawing 2-2 at Fellows Park, on 30th October 1984.
