Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the club's official website ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League 1 clash with Coventry City, with Smith keen to improve on November's 0-0 draw away at the Ricoh Arena.

Speaking to Saddlers.co.uk, Dean said; "We get 2015 underway with the visit of Coventry City. It's a local derby and a game that we are looking forward to as we aim to get back into winning ways on home soil following the disappointment on Boxing Day.

"There is no doubt that Coventry have some good players in their side and we are well aware of the threats that they possess. They have been through a lot off-the-pitch, but Steven Pressley has made them a hard team to beat, as we found at their place at the end of November.

"Happy New Year to all of our supporters. Thank you for the backing that you have given us throughout 2014... I look forward to more of the same during the course of the year ahead."
