Former Walsall captain, and two-time 'Player of the Season' Andy Butler has spoken to the press ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League One clash with Crewe Alexandra, and has discussed what he'd like to happen during what could be his final game for the Saddlers, as his loan deal is due to expire late on Saturday evening.

Speaking to the Express & Star, Andy said; “I’d like to score. Whatever happens, happens. I have enjoyed my time here and if it doesn’t work out then I have at least got fitter from it.

“Who knows what it is going to happen? It does not worry me, I either extend my loan here or go back to Sheffield United. Either way I have just got to keep doing what I'm doing. Nothing will change in my approach."

When asked about the current state of negotiations over a potential loan extension, Andy said; “I have not got a clue. I don't know what is happening, I really don’t. I would be keen (to stay) as long as everyone is in agreement, I’d like to carry on playing. But nothing really has been said.

“It’s been enjoyable. All I want to do is play football and the gaffer has let me do that. There have been a couple of results that didn't go right for us but otherwise it has been good.”
