Ten Walsall supporters appeared before Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday charged with violent disorder following violence before last season's Shrewsbury Town away fixture.
Ten Walsall supporters appeared before Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday charged with violent disorder following violent clashes that marred last season's away trip to Shrewsbury Town.


Five of the men entered a guilty plea, three pleaded not guilty and two didn't enter a plea.

Last week 16 Shrewsbury fans, including four teenagers, admitting being part of the brawl.

The fighting in Shrewsbury started in Mardol before spilling into Smithfield Road in front of horrified Sunday shoppers.

Three police officers were injured as they tried to restore order, including Constable Lee Saunders who suffered a broken leg.

The fans were warned that they could face lengthy bans from football matches as part of their sentences.

Sentencing will begin in September.
