WALSALL 0 WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS 3 - MATCH REPORT

Following Saturday's Pre-Season friendly defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers, guest Karl Robinson shares his Match Report;

Walsall and Wolves had a decent showing in the first half with both teams playing in the middle of the pitch for quite a while, however it was a goal from Frank Nouble which put Wolves in front. A substitution later with Adam Hammill coming on for the Wolves a second goal was scored and it didn't look good possession wise from Walsall. Second half kicked off and Wolves changed the team around a lot with what was seemingly their first team, Walsall made few changes to the line up and made subs during the game. However possession became worse for Walsall who were kicking the ball straight down to the Wolves defence most of the time, with one good chance from us in the second half, it was Kevin Doyle who sealed the win for Wolves.

For Walsall this was a chance for the team to get a chance to play against a side who had played in the Premier League last season and it was a chance for Dean Smith to make a decision about a few trialists as long as they had a good run against Wolves. With a match against Kidderminster Harriers on Tuesday and then on Saturday 4th August against Burton Albion, Dean Smith needs to make a decision if he is to sign any more of the trialsts. However as a few fans were saying is we should be playing our final squad for the season against Burton because after that West Brom is our final chance to get a team together before the start of the season.

A few things i heard from fans though were we should at least make quite some more signings as we need a good player to work alongside Andy Butler. We need a good left back, a good midfielder and we are in need of a stricker that is at least over five foot. However i believe one thing that is key for the team is someone with experience of playing in league one or higher.

RESULT: Walsall 0 Wolverhampton Wanderers 3 (Nouble 23', Hammill 38', Doyle 68') (HT: 0-2) (ATT: 4,219) (REF: O, Langford)
