Walsall Under-17s were in action on Wednesday evening as they took on Shrewsbury Town on the 3G pitch at the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium in their latest U17 Professional Development League group fixture.Placed in Group I alongside the Shrews, Port Vale, and Sheffield United, the young Saddlers had drawn their opening two games of the competition including a 3-3 draw with the Valiants, and were looking to earn their first win as they took on the Shrews.
The opening goal of the game didn't arrive until the match had reached the hour mark, and it went the way of the visitors when Kaysha Kameni was allowed to turn and shoot, his effort getting the better of Saddlers stopper Fraser Hamilton-Wright.
The visitors went on to double their lead later in the half when Kameni was found in acres of space by Harry Fallon, who had shown a burst of pace to break inside the Walsall box before handing the goal to his teammate.
There were no further goals as the young Saddlers slipped to defeat in their third and final group game of the competition.
