Match Stats: Walsall 2-4 Salford City

Walsall were back in League Two action on Monday evening as they welcomed league leaders Salford City to the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium for a televised clash under the lights.

The visitors enjoyed much of the attacking play in the first half, and went on to grab the opening goal of the game on the stroke of half-time when Macauley Langstaff fired the ball into Jed Ward's net.

Salford added a second goal early in the second half when Jorge Grant capped off a swift attacking move to put his side closer to taking all three points.

Walsall weren't keen on letting their unbeaten run go without a fight when Tai Sodje battled for the ball before finding strike partner Aaron Pressley, who happily added his ninth goal of the season.

The Saddlers restored parity with sixty-six minutes played when Lewis Simper came off the bench and headed the ball home from a Mason Hancock cross.

The stalemate didn't even last a minute, however, as the Saddler simply fell asleep and allowed their visitors to retake the lead when substitute Kallum Cesay put his side back into the lead.

Salford went on to make if 4-2 during the final ten minute of the half when Adebola Oluwo headed the ball home from a corner. An entertaining second-half that saw the Ammies take all three points.
