The Club has confirmed that Saturday's Sky Bet League Two clash between the Saddlers and Rochdale will be Walsall FC's dedicated South Asian Heritage fixture!In what has historically been a well-received, positive and vibrant day of events over the years at WS1, this year is set to be no different, with a whole host of activities and activations to mark the occasion.
Firstly, Bhangra Smash Up will be returning once more and play their part in providing the pre-match energy as we gear up to kick-off. The group, known for their captivating beats and high-energy performances, will be performing at 1:45pm outside the Fan Zone, on the pitch in the build-up to kick-off and during the half-time interval too.
In the Fan Zone, we will have FREE face painting area alongside a Henna tattoo artist and representatives from the British Army on site providing family-friendly activities for our junior supporters - make sure to take a look and say hello while you're there.
Supporters will also be able to grab themselves FREE Samosas on matchday in The Locker, Jimmy Walker Suite and Fan Zone - don't miss out and make sure you arrive early doors this weekend before it's too late, as once they're gone, they're gone!
Elsewhere, we are excited to welcome Walsall's very own Hamza Uddin back to the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium. The local boxer, fresh off a recent win and currently preparing for his British & Commonwealth Flyweight Title match on Saturday, 3rd October at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham, will be interviewed at half-time on the pitch to talk about his upbringing, his career so far and what’s next for him.
As well as Hamza, the club is pleased to be welcoming Alaina Ali and Gurj Woodhurst from Walsall FC Women's first-team for pre-match interviews, both in the hospitality lounges and pitchside – be sure to say hello to them when they’re around the stadium!
