Walsall's on-loan Leeds United midfielder Charlie Crew has been named in the Wales Under-21s squad for their upcoming UEFA Under-21 Euro 2027 qualifiers against Belgium and Austria.Head Coach Matty Jones has named a 23-man squad that will travel to Westerlo to face Belgium on Tuesday, 29th September, before hosting Austria at the Oval in Caernarfon a week later, on Tuesday, 6th October.
The match against Austria marks the first time for an U21 match to be held in Caernarfon, showcasing the transformation of The Oval following an investment of more than £1 million ahead of this summer’s UEFA European Under-19 Championship finals in north Wales.
The redevelopment included the installation of a brand-new playing surface, alongside a significant extension and renovation of the changing room facilities. The stadium hosted three matches during the tournament, featuring Croatia, Serbia and Italy.
Tickets for the match against Austria at the Oval in Caernarfon are available to purchase on the FAW ticketing website.
