Walsall Fall to Heavy Defeat in Behind Closed Doors Clash

The Saddlers' pre-season continued as they took on the Hatters behind closed doors.

Walsall were back in pre-season action on Wednesday afternoon as they made their way to Bedfordshire and took on Championship side Luton Town in a behind closed doors friendly.

Serving as the Saddlers' penultimate pre-season outing, Head Coach Lee Grant had one of his final opportunities to take a look at some of the academy prospects and trialists ahead of Saturday afternoon's pre-season finale against Notts County.

 

Walsall were once again unable to find the back of the net as their hosts built a commanding five-goal lead as Devante Cole, Benny Benagr, Jayden Luker, Shayden Morris, and Nahki Wells scored for the Hatters.

 

The Saddlers had goal-scoring opportunities of their own, but were ultimately unable to take advantage of them as their struggles in the final third continue ahead of next week's season-opening Carabao Cup clash with Bristol City.
