Walsall continued their 2026/27 pre-season campaign on Saturday afternoon as they made their way to the Nigel Doughty Academy in Nottingham and took on Nottingham Forest B.With the game being played behind closed doors, the Saddlers named a team that included first-teamers, academy prospects, and trialists as head coach Lee Grant continues to assess his side ahead of the new campaign.
It turned out to be a successful afternoon for Walsall, as summer signing Andrew Dallas, who bagged a brace, was joined on the scoresheet by Aaron Pressley and Ryan Sjoerdsma as they won by four-goals-to-two.
The home side's goals came from an as-yet unnamed trialist and Blaine McClure, as they levelled twice before the Saddlers went on to establish their two-goal lead.
Walsall will next be in action on Tuesday evening when they welcome UEFA Europa League winners Aston Villa to the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium.
