Walsall are believed to be closing in on the signing of Harrogate Town winger Reece Smith, with the 24-year-old set to undergo a medical ahead of a proposed permanent transfer to WS1.Joining the recently-relegated Sulphurites from Maidenhead United last summer, Smith made fifty-two first-team appearances, scoring three goals, and was also said to be on the radar of Oldham Athletic.
As initially reported by Pete O'Rourke, the Saddlers are believed to have taken the lead in the race for his signature as head coach Lee Grant continues to assemble his team ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
