Fixture Release Day: Walsall's 2026/27 League Two Schedule Confirmed

We now know when and where the Saddlers' 2026/27 Sky Bet League Two campaign will get underway.
Bescot Banter - Walsall FC NewsWalsall will begin their 2026/27 Sky Bet League Two campaign on the road as new head coach Lee Grant takes charge for their first time since replacing Darren Byfield in the hot seat at the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium.

The Saddlers will travel to Priestfield to take on Gillingham on Saturday, 15th August, with the match currently set to get underway at 3.00pm.

Lee Grant's men will then welcome Grimsby Town to the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium on Saturday, 22nd August, as they play their first league encounter on home soil before welcoming Accrington Stanley a week later ahead of two consecutive away games against Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday, 1st September, and Exeter City on Saturday, 5th September.

Over the festive period, the Saddlers will travel to Bristol Rovers on Boxing Day before back-to-back home games against Chesterfield and Cheltenham Town on Tuesday, 29th December, and New Year’s Day, Friday, 1st January 2027 respectively.

The busy Easter period will see them face Cheltenham Town in the reverse fixture at the EV Charger Points Stadium on Good Friday, 26th March, before welcoming Bristol Rovers to the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium on Easter Monday, 29th March.

Our final away game of the season sees the team travel to Sixfields to take on Northampton Town on Saturday, 1st May, before they welcome Christian Fuchs’ Newport County on the final day of the season, Saturday, 8th May, at the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium.

In other games to look out for, the Reds will host newly promoted Rochdale and travel to York City on Saturday, 12th September, and Saturday, 21st November, with the reverse fixtures taking place on Saturday, 20th February 2027 and Saturday, 20th March 2027 respectively.

Exeter City will be the first of the relegated clubs Walsall will face as we visit St James Park on Saturday, 5th September, as mentioned above, before welcoming them to WS1 for the reverse fixture on Saturday, 13th February 2027.
