Walsall Sign Barnsley Forward Andy Dallas

The Saddlers were known to be in the market for a new frontline following several recent departures.
Bescot Banter - Walsall FC NewsWalsall have confirmed the signing of Barnsley forward Andy Dallas, who will join the Saddlers when his current contract expires at the end of the month.

A product of the Rangers academy system, though he wasn't able to make a first-team appearance, 26-year-old Dallas has spent most of his professional career in England, playing for clubs such as Cambridge United, Solihull Moors, and the Tykes.

Not always featuring in his parent club's plans, he also has a lengthy list of loan clubs to his name, with the likes of Weymouth, Chesterfield, Oldham Athletic, Barrow, Morecambe, and, most recently, Southend United all taking advantage of his availability.

Walsall are in the market for several new signings over the summer, as there has been something of an exodus following last season's bottom-half finish.

Speaking via the club's official website, Head Coach Lee Grant admitted he is pleased to have the forward on board; he said: "I'm delighted to bring Andy to the football club.

"He's someone who we've been looking at for some time and had a productive spell on loan last season, where he was able to make 20 goal contributions.

"He has a strong list of attributes and comes to us at an exciting moment in his career. Andy is hungry for success and is a welcome addition to our forward unit as we prepare for the new season.

"I'm pleased to get this deal over the line in preparation for pre-season and looking forward to seeing Andy demonstrate his talents in front of our supporters."
