Walsall are close to securing the services of St. Johnstone midfielder Sven Sprangler after overcoming work permit issues. As reported back on Wednesday, 3rd June, the Saddlers had been keen to add the 31-year-old to their ranks as recently appointed head coach Lee Grant looks to assemble a team ahead of the new campaign.
However, after agreeing a fee with the Saints, the club faced a lengthy wait to secure a work permit for the Austrian, leading to a nervy wait as officials made sure their paperwork was in order.
Also reported by Daily Record journalist Scott Burns, the Saddlers have now secured the permit and are set to land the midfielder on a two-year deal, with an announcement expected over the coming days.
