As attention turns to August and the 2026/27 campaign, the EFL has provided fans with a slew of welcome information about when they can expect official broadcaster Sky Sports to confirm their TV selections.Just like in 2025/26, more than 1,000 games across the EFL, Carabao Cup and Vertu Trophy will be broadcast across Sky Sports throughout the 2026/27 season for viewers in the UK.
With the new season set to get underway across the weekend of Friday, 14th August, we're already closing in on the first round of televised games.
- By 2 July 2026, selections will be announced in respect of all live broadcast matches to be played before the end of September 2026.
- By 31 July 2026 selections will be confirmed in respect of all live broadcast matches to be played up to, and including, the weekend of 8-11 January 2027.
- By 6 November 2026, selections shall be announced in respect of all matches to be played up to, and including, the midweek of 2-3 March 2027.
This once again provides fans and Clubs up to five months’ notice. By selecting TV picks early and giving much more notice, fans will be able to plan with certainty when making travel and any hotel arrangements.
Selections for matches scheduled for the weekend of 5-8 March 2027 will be announced by 5 February 2027, followed by weekly announcements looking four-weeks ahead. (For example, the weekend of 12-15 March 2027 will be announced by Friday 12 February 2027).
- Selections for matches scheduled for the penultimate weekend of the regular season will be announced three weeks in advance.
- Selections for matches scheduled for the final weekend of the regular season will be announced the week prior.
