Stockport County have confirmed that former Walsall loanee Jid Okeke has reached a pre-contract agreement with German 3. Liga club SV Waldhof Mannheim. As we reported in April, Ahaus-born Okeke had been keen to return to his homeland, with his move seeing the Hatters receive training compensation.
Beginning his career with FC St Pauli, Jid joined Oldham Athletic in 2018 aged just 13 and, after rising through the ranks, would spend time on loan at Stalybridge Celtic before joining Stockport County in 2023.
Jid went on to enjoy loan spells with Chester, Hereford, South Shields, and Rochdale, where he spent much of the 2024/25 campaign, ahead of his time in WS1.
The 21-year-old made 27 first-team appearances across two loan spells at the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium, his first goal for the Saddlers coming in an EFL Trophy clash against Shrewsbury Town.
