After being listed among the players who will be leaving WS1 when his contract expires, midfielder Charlie Lakin has sought to thank Walsall fans, players and staff as he gets set to begin a new chapter in his career.A former member of the club's academy, Charlie returned to the Saddlers from Burton Albion in June 2024, 26-year-old Lakin made ninety-seven first-team appearances, scoring five goals, as he established himself in Mat Sadler's squad.
Speaking via his official Instagram account, Charlie said: "After 2 years at Walsall F.C, it’s time for me to move on.
"I’m really grateful for every opportunity, and for all my teammates and staff I’ve worked alongside during this time.
"To the fans — thank you for your support through the highs and the lows, it never went unnoticed.
"I’ve made some great memories and friendships that I’ll always take with me. Wishing the club all the best going forward. Onto the next chapter."
