Walsall FC has issued a statement in the wake of rumours circulating across social media following news of a change in positions on the Board of Directors.Initially reported via Companies House, Saddlers co-chairman Benjamin Boycott and director Kenneth Polk were re-listed as 'People with Significant Control' rather than in their original positions, leading to rumours of an ownership change.
However, in response to the growing questions, the Club has insisted no such change has taken place and the moves were simply made for compliance reasons only, and do not reflect any change in ownership or control.
Issued via the club's official website, the statement reads: We can confirm that an update has been made at Companies House today, following ongoing discussions with their representatives.
Ben Boycott and Ken Polk are now listed as ‘People with Significant Control (PSC)’ of Walsall Football Club Limited. This update has been made for compliance reasons only and does not reflect any change in ownership or control.
