John Graham Sissons was born in Chester-le-Street on Sunday, 20th May 1934, and made more than 250 appearances in the Football League for clubs including Birmingham City, Peterborough United, and Walsall.
After spending time in Sheffield, where he had played for Kiveton Boys FC, Graham joined Birmingham City in June 1954 and went on to make 106 appearances before linking up with Peterborough United in December 1961.
Graham joined the Saddlers under manager Ray Shaw in November 1964 and went on to make 100 league appearances before moving on to Stourbridge in 1968.
After hanging up his boots, Graham formed part of the Saddlers' backroom, taking up the role of coach in the reserves.
In terms of honours, he was part of the Blues team that took on Roma in the 1961 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup Final, which Roma won by four goals to two on aggregate.
We would like to pass on our sincere condolences to Graham's family during this sad time.
